Text, image and media blocks

Text and media do most of the talking on a photography site. Both live in ordinary components you add from the Add Component panel; see Add and arrange blocks if you haven't placed a block yet.

Text blocks

Double-click a Text block (or select it and click Edit Text, or press Enter) to start typing. A formatting toolbar appears with:

• Text styles: Heading 1 through Heading 5 and three paragraph styles, all pulled from your brand style guide, plus Caption and a custom style with your own font, size, line height and color.
• Formatting: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough and Text Color.
• Structure: Bullet List, Order List, indent controls and left/center/right alignment.
• Links: select text and click the link button to add, update or remove a link.

Click outside the block (or press Escape) to finish editing.

Keeping most text on the built-in heading and paragraph styles means a change in your style guide restyles the whole site at once.

Image blocks

Use the Media block for images. Select it and click Media Options, then choose your image:

1. Under the image area, open the media manager.
2. Pick Select From Studio to reuse a photo already uploaded to a client project, or Upload New Image to add a fresh file.
3. Click Add (or Save for uploads).

The Media Options panel then gives you:

• Image Display: Fill the block or keep the original proportions.
• A focal point picker, so the important part of the photo stays visible however the block is cropped. Changing the image resets the focal point to center.
• Crop To Shape, Corner Radius and Overlay for styling.
• Click Action: None, Link, or Lightbox (opens the full image over the page).
• Alt Text and Caption.

Sections can also carry a background image with its own focal point; select the section and use its Color fill options.

Video and audio (paid plans)

On paid plans the Media block also plays video and audio. Set the block's Media Type, then in the media manager either Upload New Video / Upload New Audio, or Add Video from URL / Add Audio from URL to embed from a link. On the Free plan these tabs show "Video uploads are a paid feature" with an upgrade link.

Video settings include a title, caption, Autoplay Video, Mute Video and Loop Video. Audio settings include the Audio Title, Artist Name, Player Controls (full or slim) and a light or dark Player Style.

Uploaded video and audio are processed after upload, so a just-uploaded file can take a little while before it plays on the live site.
